The internet has been buzzing over the recent disappearance of a low cost clothing ad.
News24 has obtained exclusive access to the ad, which appeared to feature an all black model in a short skirt, high heels and low-cut dress.
News24 has contacted the company behind the ad for comment.
A spokesperson for Lowe’s said: “The ad was purchased from an authorized Lowe’s retailer.
We’re aware of the incident and are investigating.”
The ad appears to be a promotional item for the high street retailer’s sale of their low-priced “Fitness and Fitness Club” clothing line.
The ad was sold on its website on August 1, with the full retail price of $199.99.
The advertisement has now been removed from the Lowe’s website and is now available for purchase on the Lowes website.
A spokesperson for Lowes told News24 the ad was never officially endorsed by the retailer and Lowe’s has no plans to sell it.
“The ad is a promotional piece that was never approved by Lowe’s and is no longer available for sale,” the spokesperson said.
“It was removed from their site due to the lack of a review process for this particular ad.”
Lowe’s also told News23 the ad had not been approved for sale in any of its stores.
“We take these matters very seriously and we are investigating the situation,” a Lowe’s spokesperson said in a statement.
The ad has been removed, but the company has not issued a statement on the matter.
