— A federal appeals court ruled Friday that a California car sticker featuring a caricature of President Donald Trump is illegal.
The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling was a victory for a group of Americans who sued the state of California last year claiming the stickers were a form of racial discrimination.
It says California can’t ban the stickers because the First Amendment protects people’s speech and assembly.
But the court said the stickers are protected by the First and Fourteenth Amendments.
